TULSA – Three companies, including two from Oklahoma, are splitting a $43.5 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for information technology equipment and support for its Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

The two state companies are Tulsa-based Solutions Through Innovative Technologies Inc. and Oklahoma City-based Consulting Services Inc. The third company is Array Information Technology Inc. of Greenbelt, Md.

The Air Force awarded the contract this month.

Solutions Through Innovative Technologies, or STI Technologies, is a small disadvantaged business that provides information management services, said Alvin E. Hall Sr., president and chief executive officer.

“We have worked with Wright-Patterson since 2008,” Hall said.

STI Technologies provides cyber-security, IT infrastructure, electronic document management, technology and business training and management services.

CSI was founded in 2002 in Oklahoma City, said Ken Novotny, president and CEO. The American Indian-owned company employs 75 at Wright-Patterson AFB and 250 companywide, he said.

Also an information technology company, CSI provides engineering and various professional services.

CSI also has contracts with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Novotny said.

CSI has undergone significant growth since 2009, with employment climbing 38 percent, Novotny said. Revenues have grown from $15 million in 2008 to $44 million last year.

Last year CSI was ranked No. 4 in The Journal Record’s Metro 50. Also, CSI was No. 1 in the “Inner City 100,” sponsored by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and Fortune Magazine.

Founded in Oklahoma 11 years ago, STI Technologies employs 68 people in five states, Hall said. The company operates offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The company has nearly doubled its employment from a year ago, Hall said.

“We anticipate hiring another 32 people, bringing us up to 100 this year,” Hall said.

The U.S. Department of Defense is STI’s No. 1 customer, Hall said. The company also has contracts with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration and Homeland Security.
