Governor Signs Bill to Restore Aerospace Incentives

  • April 04, 2011

Gov. Mary Fallin signed legislation into law today that will remove the Aerospace Engineer Workforce and Recruitment incentives from the list of credits on moratorium as of July 1 this year.

House Bill 1008, by Rep. Skye McNiel and Sen. Mike Mazzei, will help grow the aerospace industry in Oklahoma and create more high-paying jobs.

The legislation received bipartisan support in both the House and Senate as it moved through the legislative process.

The aerospace industry is currently one of Oklahoma’s top three economic engines. The credits are proven job-creators, as they can only be claimed after companies have hired new aerospace engineers. The creation of new jobs is a requirement to claim the credit.
