Last Modified: 12/14/2010 5:47 AMIn a series of executive changes at NORDAM Group, Meredith Siegfried, the chief operating officer of its Repair Division, will assume the vacant position of company president, CEO Bill Peacher said Monday.
Peacher, who described the executive shifts as the next steps in the Tulsa aerospace company’s long-term management succession plan, said Siegfried’s responsibilities as the president would include overseeing the manufacturing and repair operations and the supply chain.
“We’re just grooming people for taking on more responsibilities in the organization,” he said. “Meredith will now, in her new role as president, have responsibility for all the operations of NORDAM, not just the Repair Division. She will report to me.”
Siegfried, the daughter of NORDAM’s founder, Ray Siegfried II, who died in 2005, joined the company in 1999. She has a degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.
She also is the chairwoman of the Tulsa Airport Authority.
T. Hastings Siegfried, the chief operating officer of the company’s Transparency Division, will become NORDAM’s vice chairman and the chairman of the governance committee in addition to his present duties, Peacher said. He also will assume responsibility for NORDAM’s government affairs and community relations.
Hastings Siegfried, who is also a Notre Dame graduate, has been with NORDAM since 1998. He is a member of the board of directors of the Tulsa Metro Chamber and of the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs, and he is the president of the Committee of One Hundred, Tulsa.
Steve Pack, the chief operating officer of NORDAM’s Manufacturing Division, will remain in charge of the company’s manufacturing operations, which are expected to grow significantly, Peacher said.
Pack, a University of Tulsa graduate, has worked for NORDAM for 14 years. He has held executive positions at General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, Rockwell International and McDonnell Douglas.
Basil Barimo, the Repair Division’s vice president of global engineering and quality, will also become the division’s general manager.
Barimo’s new title will be vice president/general manager of NORDAM Repair Division and Global Technical Operations, Peacher said.
Barimo joined NORDAM in 2009 from the Air Transport Association of America, where he was the vice president of operations and safety. He also held executive positions in operations, engineering and quality with Airborne, US Airways and McDonnell Douglas.
Barimo has a degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
“The moves represent the continuation of a process begun two years ago to prepare key leaders for succession to all major roles in the corporation,” Peacher said. “Meredith Siegfried, Hastings Siegfried, Steve Pack and Basil Barimo all have significant operations experience.
“We believe operational excellence, engineering focus geared to solving customer problems and a strong capital structure will be keys to success in the years ahead.
“Over the past several years, Meredith, Hastings, Steve and Basil have each successfully proved their dedication to those beliefs, as well as their ability to assume greater leadership roles.”
Ken Lackey, NORDAM’s executive chairman, said the company was working its way through a typical aerospace industry business cycle and that the low point had passed. “The year ahead will continue to show improvement, and 2012 should be the beginning of the next major growth cycle for aerospace and NORDAM,” Lackey said.
“We have a substantial backlog of programs that will drive future growth and a management team and board capable of taking advantage of strategic opportunities that will be available to NORDAM in the years ahead.”
NORDAM, which is privately held, employs 2,000 people around the world, including about 1,500 in Tulsa.
