Certified Healthy Business Competition

  • November 01, 2010

The State Chamber is once again joining the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals and the Oklahoma State Department of Health in sponsoring the Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business and Certified Healthy Restaurant programs. Last year, more than 200 Oklahoma businesses and restaurants participated in the program. Many received the designation of Certified Healthy Business, while some achieved higher certifications of Merit and Excellence. The Certified Healthy Business program seeks to recognize business, schools and associations working toward a healthier Oklahoma by providing health and wellness opportunities for their employees and patrons.

A healthy workplace is a win-win for Oklahoma businesses. Businesses that make wellness in the workplace a priority enjoy the benefits of reduced absenteeism, employee health plan savings, better employee retention, increased productivity, and a happier, healthier workforce.

For businesses and restaurants receiving the best scores in their categories, there will be an awards and recognition luncheon in early 2011.

Please forward this notice to your members and encourage them to participate in the program. And, of course, sign-up yourself. Nominations forms are available online at http://www.okturningpoint.org. Or print out a hard copy and return it to Neil Hann, Community Development Service, Oklahoma State Department of Health, 1000 NE 10th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73117. You may also FAX your completed form to Neil at 405/271-1225.
