MRO University – Training on Demand
The Oklahoma Aerospace Alliance (OAA) is pleased to announce our newest product to Members!
MRO University is the procurement and provision of training as directed by industry.
The implementation of the MRO University program will benefit the state’s aerospace industry by increasing competitiveness of Oklahoma’s existing aerospace companies, attracting new aerospace companies, suppliers and workers to the state, and by enhancing Oklahoma’s reputation as a leader in Aerospace workforce training and opportunities.
In early 2009, the Tulsa Area Workforce Investment Board (TAWIB) convened key industry representatives, training entities, OAA and Oklahoma Aerospace Institute (OAI) members to discuss workforce challenges, critical skills development, education and training development and options. These Roundtables identified several areas of need.
Future courses in Management, Leadership and Technical offerings will culminate in an industry recognized certification or lead to further study (with possible credit). MRO University is a statewide effort that is supported by industry at all levels.
The OAA will cooperate with Local Workforce Investment Boards, Training and Education Providers and Industry to procure programs that are needed in a nationally and accredited forum.
