To facilitate the transition to the age of digital manufacturing by aerospace MRO companies by helping them not only manage change, solve problems, and improve existing or attain new capabilities; but help them provide their products and services faster, with higher quality, and at lower cost.

SEAM Aero was started at the beginning of 2009 in conjunction with the R&D Center for SEAM, a university centered research facility with well established faculty and equipment laboratories from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and University of Tulsa. The R&D Center for SEAM is focused on creating and disseminating its intellectual property, innovations, and knowledge base in Shape Engineering (SE) through research, training, education and engineering services to the aerospace MRO industry in the Texas to Kansas corridor and throughout the U.S. This partnership enables both the commercial and government sectors to leverage the extensive technical, research, and training capabilities of the Center and the expertise and resources within Oklahoma’s top universities.

SEAM provides a number of services in the area of Shape Engineering (SE). We provide fast, accurate scanning and metrology using state-of-the-art equipment. SEAM can construct digital models and additionally provide modeling, design, analysis, and material characterization services. In addition to the SE services to reverse engineer components, we can provide re-engineering services to improve an existing design, taking into account how the design change of the component could affect other components in the assembly. We can also help our partners identify, analyze and improve existing processes or develop new processes. We can provide consulting and engineering services to small companies to enable them to compete for business previously unavailable to them. Finally, drawing on our university resources we offer consulting, research and training to fit specific needs.
