Frontier Electronic Systems Corp started as Frontier Engineering, Inc. (FEI) in 1974 as a spin-off of research accomplished by the company's founders Ed and Peggy Schreve. Ed Shreeve, Phd. EE, was a professor at Oklahoma State University and consulted for government customers to build electronic digitizers for surveilance applications. These contracts grew and FEI began full-time operations in 1981. The company grew to over 500 employees and locations by the 1990s and in 1997, the company split into four parts and the engineering company stayed in Stillwater, Oklahoma with new name Frontier Electronic Systems Corp (FES) with both engineering and manufacturing capabilities with Mil-Spec heritage. FES gained 2nd-party certification to ISO-9001 from DCMA in 1998 and third-party certification from NQA in 2001 and is now certified to ISO-9001 as well as AS-9100. FES is now over 139 employees with over 40 engineers and 45 manufacturing personnel on staff.

Frontier Electronic Systems Corp has excelled as an award-winning leader in the design and manufacture of innovative, cost-effective electronic systems and equipment for government and commercial customers since it began full time operations in 1981. Frontier is headquartered in an 86,000 square foot engineering and manufacturing facility located in Stillwater, Oklahoma where it’s 139 team members design, manufacture and test electronic products and systems for aerospace, maritime and other commercial customers throughout the world.
