BearingPoint’s history reaches back more than 100 years to Peat Marwick. After completing an initial public offering in 2001, the company changed its name from KPMG Consulting to BearingPoint in 2002. In March 2009, BearingPoint began implementing plan to sell substantially all of its businesses to a number of parties. With the sale and wind-down of the company’s operations in North America coming to closure, several entities continue to provide consulting services under the BearingPoint brand in Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
